Selfish people have the ability to wound and destroy other people with their selfish actions. When any person has been wounded so deeply that they lock the pain deep inside them it is possible that they will not want to reach out to others to help them heal. Mistrust is so great within them that they hide behind barriers as they are afraid they will be hurt again. Staying stuck in our hurt keeps us in a place where the offender has the victory over us. Healing from our hurt is the only way forward.
