It is great to have as much knowledge as we can to prepare us for the changes which happen with rapid succession within the teen. One day we have a child and the next we have an adult. The emotional moods swings are something to behold and the peer pressure and the tears, also loss of friends and learning that they still need boundaries and curfews can sometimes create chaos between the parent and the teen. Many people feel like world war has erupted.
We often find that a massive chasm will appear between a parent and a teen and yet it is helpful to know that our teen usually does listen to us and finds our advice very helpful. They just may not tell you this. Have confidence in your parenting.
